The Spruce Eats is a culinary publication that covers both editorial and commerce content. To help unify their visual brand, I created a template system for collage images that function as the lead image for articles. This system includes 12 backgrounds.

Backgrounds
The inspiration for these collage backgrounds was the handmade and organic nature that food posesses. This combined with The Spruce Eats’s existing color pallet to create a light natural feeling. These act as the backgrounds for designers to collage over in order to create a branded and uniform look.
The Collages
The first and foremost function of these images were to provide context for food delivery services ranging from best cakes to best utensils. The backgrounds provide a branded and uniform look to all e-commerce content, while remaining fresh and graphic to add interest to the lead image of each article.
